  • A small handful of freshly chopped parsley or basil
  • 1-2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  • First, on a large plate or platter, lay a bed of Serrano ham and roasted Piquillo peppers.

  • Carefully drain the brine from the burrata ball. To remove it from the packing, try to avoid touching the ball as they break easily — so roll it from the packaging on top of the bed of ham. Optionally, tear the ball into small strips and arrange around the plate.

A ball of Burrata cheese is placed on a plate.
  • Season with some freshly chopped parsley or basil, a pinch or two of salt and cracked black pepper, and finally, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil.

Expert Tips:

Use Good Quality Ham: we suggest using good qulaity Spanish Serrano ham (Jamon Serrano). You can usually find it online or any decent Spanish specialty food stores (more on where to source Serrano ham below).
Prepare right before serving: Avoid sad salad syndrome by prepaing this salad right before you are ready to serve. The ingredients (dairy and meat) are very sensitive to heat and will spoil easily if left out of the fridge for too long.
Use Fresh Burrata: Burrata is ideal with summer salads and is best served fresh and at room temperature, avoid low-moisture versions. It's available in most sueprmarkets, but make sure you use a reputable brand an ensure it has been freshly packed (more on where to source fresh Burrata below in the article 👇).
Storage: This recipe is best assembled and served immediately. If needed, prepare the ingredients ahead of time but add the burrata just before serving.
