Effortless 3-Minute Spanish-Style Tuna Tomato Salad Recipe

Summertime is here and we’ve got an effortless 3-minute Spanish-style tuna tomato salad recipe that’s perfect for those hot days and nights. Made with some sliced ripe tomatoes, tuna chunks, thinly sliced onion, black olives, and generously drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and just a pinch of sea salt.
With no cooking required, this recipe is ideal when it’s too hot to turn on the oven or grill. Best of all, it’s made with a few easy-to-find ingredients and pantry staples, and can be whipped up in less than 3 minutes!

Equipment

  • Sharp kitchen knife
  • Chopping board
  • Large serving plate or platter

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g of ripe on-vine tomatoes
  • 8 oz. 220g tinned tuna (we used Ortiz, Tuna Bonito Del Norte In Olive Oil)
  • ½ white onion sliced fine
  • ¼ cup of black olives pitted is best
  • 1 tablespoon Jerez sherry vinegar optional
  • 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • A pinch or two of coarse sea salt
  • A pinch of cracked black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cut tomatoes into 8th wedges. Arrange tomatoes onto a plate or serving platter.

  • Add drained tuna chunks. Break up a few pieces into flakes for some different textures.
    8 oz. 220g tinned tuna (we used Ortiz, Tuna Bonito Del Norte In Olive Oil)

  • Add some finely sliced onion and black olives.

  • Season with some coarse sea salt and cracked black pepper.

  • Drizzle with some quality extra virgin olive oil and Jerez vinegar if you are using it and serve.
