How to make basil and garlic dressing
Good news, this recipe is super easy to make and only takes around 5 minutes to make when you use a food processor. If you want to go all old-fashioned, you could use a mortar and pestle, although you’ll need to add more time (and likely need to make a chiropractor appointment afterward!).Â
We suggest sticking to making this recipe with a food processor.Â
Ingredients
- 1 cup of fresh basil
- 5 garlic cloves (small-med), peeled
- 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar (we used Jerez white vinegar)
- â…“ cup (2 fl oz/60ml) Extra Virgin Olive OilÂ
- ¼ teaspoon of Pink Himalayan Salt Â
Equipment neededÂ
- 1 sealable air-tight jar or container
- A food processor (eg: Ninja SS351 Foodi Power Blender & Processor System)
- Chopping board
- Sharp knife
Instructions
- Start off by adding the garlic and a little oil to the food processor. Buzz for a minute, or until you see the garlic is nicely minced.Â
- Next, loosely chop the basil and add the leaves to the food processor. Add around half of the remaining oil and buzz for a few minutes until you reach the desired consistency. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more oil.Â
- Transfer to a sealable air-tight jar or container. Store refrigerated for up to 1 week.
